Many people confuse vanity with Narcissism, as old definitions of Narcissism involved being in love with one's own looks. However, Narcissism in the sense of Narcissistic Abuse is quite different. This video explains the main differences:

I hope this will help you. I have started with affirmations about things which would probably seem so obvious to people from healthy families but are things many survivors of dysfunction, abuse or neglect struggle to remember or articulate or worse, give themselves permission to have or do in their lives.
